Follow a quiet lane lined with lampposts to the gentle shoreline of
Lake Dora, home of the Lakeside Inn. Originally opened in 1883 as a
10-room hotel, the Inn was expanded over the years, ultimately reaching
its current proportions in the early 1930s with honored guest Calvin
Coolidge on hand to dedicate the Gables and Terrace wings. Listed in
the National Register of Historic Places, this charming refuge features
guest rooms and public spaces warmly appointed in the English country
style. The current proprietors continue to refine the inn to reflect
the traditions and hospitality of the 1920s and 1930s. The inn has an
Olympic pool, night-lit tennis courts, croquet and shuffleboard. The
Beauclaire Restaurant offers fine dining and Tremains Lounge features
entertainment on weekends. Boutiques and antiques shops in Mount Dora
provide leisurely diversion, and popular Orlando attractions such as
Disney, Universal Studios and Sea World are nearby.
ROOMS: 88 comfortable guest rooms and suites.
RATES: $85 - $200 per night (seasonal).
DIRECTIONS: Follow Route 441 north from Orlando to Lake Dora. The inn is located on the left near the intersection with Route 46.
