Area historians note that the excellent cuisine and true warmth and
care that Mr and Mrs Morris Partridge offered guests created their
inn's prosperity. The annex for the servants of the northern and
Canadian families who wintered in Augusta are now gone. But hidden
somewhere within the inn's walls is the framework of the original 1879
home, which Partridge purchased at the turn of the century and expanded
intermittantly over the years, until it assumed its present 5 stories
and quarter mile of porches and balconies. The inn received an
award-winning restoration in 1995, returning it to its original comfort
and graciousness. A breakfast buffet is served daily. The
plantation-style Dining Room features exceptional cuisine for dinner.
